This year, those looking for a different alternative to holiday shopping at crowded malls will find a refuge at the Sacramento Harvest Festival, November 22-24 at Cal Expo. The event will showcase hundreds of vendors, exciting entertainment, delicious specialty foods and fabulous prizes. The Harvest Festivals are the largest indoor arts and crafts shows on the West Coast and were rated as one of the top 200 craft shows in the United States. The event offers over 24,000 unique handmade gifts that are all made in America. Guests can browse jewelry, clothing, fine art and photography, pottery, toys, home décor and more, all while mingling with the artists that create each piece. Throughout the weekend there is live entertainment acts, including local favorites Cash Tribute featuring James Garner and the rocking sounds of The Fargo Brothers. Plus, there will be strolling entertainers such as Mama Claus and Eddie the Elf wandering the aisles and entertaining patrons as they shop. Children will have a chance to go green as they take part in eco-friendly art projects at the interactive KidZone, hosted by Nature of Art for Kids, a company offering non-toxic and upcycled art supplies. The official charity of the Sacramento Harvest Festival® are the AT&T Pioneers, a volunteer network that helps local communities by aiding educational programs, running local food drives, assisting after natural disasters, and much more. The AT&T Pioneers will receive half of the proceeds from shopping bag sales, as well as all the proceeds from the bag and parcel check and the gift wrapping station. Elk Grove Food Bank Services will also be onsite at the front of the entrance and will give a $2 off discount admission to anyone who brings a non-perishable food donation to the event.
